The Unattainable Woman 2

I created a modified version of one of my most popular pieces, The Unattainable Woman.

This featured piece is created on a 2′x’2 size wood panel with oil paints. Quite the departure from my usual digital medium… but I’m getting back into my traditional art roots.

The Journey Of The Self

For many, last year was another year of anxiety, tragedy, and hopelessness. For others it was the fortunate opposite. Whichever, many questions were asked. Questions like, “Should we blame our government or ourselves for the current state of things?” However one chooses to look at such things, that person may or may not produce a satisfying answer. Unless a person can actually change the things in question, how important is it to answer such questions anyhow? At least that is what I ask myself. One thing that has helped me get through the things I have no control over through these past years is to examine myself. To my way of thinking, how can I criticize or demand anything of anyone if I can’t contribute anything other than negativity? My journey of the self has led me into new and exciting opportunities, internally and externally. Ironically a journey inward in many ways has also led me outward. For me last year was a year of redefining myself through revelations and inspirations of God, life, and passion. I entered into many experiments and art forms, each were a plunge into the sublime. But just as important as worlds of imagination and creativity are for an artist, so is the reality of networking. That said, I had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing people. Artists, gallery owners, patrons, and inspiring people. Looking back I can recall so many fond highlights from last year. However, for me the zenith of 2011 was my first solo 3-D art show and fundraiser.

I look forward to the new surprises in store for 2012. This Spring I’m targeting the release of a new style from the seeds of last year’s inspirations.
